How to Deal With Wrinkles, Dark Circles, and Bags Under The Eyes.

The Eyes Have it!

The sensitive eye area is often the place that many women notice the signs of aging first. Fine dehydration lines, puffy bags, deeper wrinkles, and crows feet can accumulate quickly around the eye area, with under eye bags and dark circles leading to an older looking appearance. Once thought only necessary only in the over 30 age group, anti aging eye care is now becoming a much larger market with a customer base of men and women from as young as teenagers.

The skin around the eyes is on average a third thinner than the skin anywhere else on the body or the face and does not contain oil-producing pores, hence the risk of dehydration and the early signs of aging. Add to this that the obicularis oculi muscle which surrounds the eye is constantly working, whether blinking, squinting or simply creating eye movement. This all can add to the formation of fine dehydration lines or dynamic wrinkles that around the eyes. In addition, lack of sleep, stress, and long hours in front of a computer monitor can contribute to puffy, tired looking eyes.

Be aware that other health factors can play a role in developing premature eye wrinkles including smoking, excess sun exposure, tanning beds, and the use of poor quality makeup products. Be sure to identify and deal with any lifestyle factors that might be contributing to puffy bags around the eyes and under eye wrinkles in addition to searching for effective remedies. Any successful remedy will perform better when you take away the environment that helped to create the problem in the first place.

Reducing Puffy Bags and Wrinkles Under the Eyes

It is important to create a skin care routine particularly designed for the sensitive eye area due to the delicate tissues and the dehydration factor. It is also extremely important to take special care to make sure that any products you are using are safe for use around your eyes.

When cleansing the eye area, look towards products containing oil bases or lipids which gently dissolve away eye make up and add moisture to the skin around the eyes. This can help keep pores clean and keep impurities from building up and leading to more significant issues over time. Avoiding the use of a toning product in the eye area as this can cause further dryness and dehydration.

The use of a rich based eye cream is recommended, but be careful to use one aimed at the level of aging or dehydration which you have, as over use of a heavy or unctuous cream can cause the formation of white heads around the eyes as the oily product becomes trapped. If you have a tendency to experience puffy bags under your eyes or dark circles, try using a cold pack to promote circulation along with a few slices of fresh cucumber as a quick fix. If you need a more long-term solution, there are several products on the market designed to reduce puffiness and dark circles. A good puffy eye cream along with a change in lifestyle that involves getting adequate nightly sleep and constructive stress reduction is the most effective way to get rid of puffy eyes.

Puffy Eye Creams and Under Eye Wrinkle Treatments

Regular use of specific eye products such as eye masks, eye creams, and specialized eye treatments at home or in salon will help to ease dehydration and eliminate any specific lines and under eye wrinkles that are bothering you. Look for eye wrinkle products and treatments which contain ingredients such as collagen, elastin and water based ingredients as they will moisturize and hydrate the area, and added ingredients such as licorice, coffee and green tea derivatives which help stimulate circulation and the production of free radical scavengers.

Any product for puffy eyes that helps to stimulate circulation and blood flow around the eye area will be helpful. For improving under eye wrinkles and crow's feet, focus on rich hydration and ingredients such as Argireline or Matrixyl 3000 that have a track record of relaxing facial tension and reducing wrinkles. My personal favorite is a product called Eye Wonder by Vasanti. It does a fantastic job of brightening up the eyes and clearing up puffiness and dark circles while firming up wrinkles under and around the eyes.
